Tuesday is shaping up to be the last high day of the week and possibly the year as temperatures are expected to hit a high of 23 C.

With the rest of the week forecast set to be filled with clouds and rain, Tuesday is expected to be mainly sunny throughout the day with winds gusting from the northwest between 20-40 kilometres per hour.

Into the evening, Environment Canada is forecasting that the cloud cover over the city will increase alongside gusting winds. The low is expected to hit 9 C — nearly 4 degrees warmer than the seasonal average.

Record temperatures for September 12 were set in 1937 and 1923 when temperatures reached 29.4 C and -6.1 C respectively.
