Thursday is shaping up to be a mediocre weather day in Saskatoon with the high expected to hit 13 C — more than five degrees cooler than the seasonal average.

In the morning, Environment Canada is forecasting skies with a mix of sun and cloud paired alongside widespread smoke which is expected to clear in the early morning.

Skies will become more cloudy into the afternoon but are expected to clear slightly into the evening.

The low is forecast to hit 3 C overnight — just slightly cooler than the seasonal average of 4.7 C.

Record temperatures for September 14 dipped to a low of -5.2 C in 2011 and reached a high of 29.7 C in 1979.
