Saskatoon police report that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in a collision that took place on the South Saskatchewan River on Friday evening.

Shortly after 8 p.m., city police, the Saskatoon Fire Department and Saskatoon EMS responded to the University Bridge area where two watercraft collided while riding on the river, according to a police news release.

Two men sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital.

Despite the fact alcohol does not appear to be a factor, the crash will be investigated and forwarded to the appropriate authorities for follow up, the Saskatoon police indicated in a release.
