Huskies jump to No. 7 in national football rankings | Saskatoon StarPhoenix
The University of Saskatchewan Huskies jumped one spot Tuesday when the weekly national football top-10 list was unveiled.
The Huskies rose from No. 8 to No. 7 after beating the Alberta Golden Bears 43-17 on Friday. The last time the Huskies were as high as No. 7 was in Week 6 of the 2014 season, when they also occupied the seventh slot.
Their next two opponents are also in this week’s top-10 — UBC, who they play on Saturday, is at No. 10, while the Calgary Dinos hold down No. 3. Regina (No. 6) is also on the top-10 out of Canada West.
Saskatchewan is 2-0 through the early stages of the season.
Meanwhile, Huskie women’s soccer rookie midfielder Megan Ripplinger is the Canada West women’s first star of the week after posting three goals and two assists in two weekend contests.
